My character is a 15 year old girl who has lived in a bunch of different countries, but I can't find a good reason why. I was thinking she could be a military brat, but I don't know if they go to different countries or just move to a bunch of different cities in one country (like America). What are some other reasons you can think of (like what could her fathers profession be that requires moving alot)?

Military would work. People do get posted overseas. Diplomatic service is good too. Lots of overseas postings there.

A large company, particularly if one of the parents worked in some sort of trouble-shooting role, setting up new factories/plants/operations centres.

Archaeologist.

It depends whether or not you need your girl to have lived in specific countries.
