Looking for Writing Buddies
I'm looking for writing Buddies!
What's not in my profile
I "won" last year and am writing and re writing that script.
I'm in my late thirties, I attended film school and I've directed a few short films. I know about "screenplay format," BUT I am looking for my fiction voice and persons who will be awake in the late hours.
Last year I wrote in the middle of the night and based on this post, I think I will do more of the same.

Adopt-A-Newbie
I know we had this last year. Basically, you post a blurb about yourself, your working style, your genre, and what type of script you're doing. (Returning writers, please put what genres and script types you've done in the past also.) Put down if you're a returning writer looking to adopt a newbie or a newbie looking for help from someone who's been there before.
If you see someone with whom you would like to adopt/would like to adopt you, send them a private message or reply to their post.

100 pages... 2 scripts
I am so proud of myself! I wrote 100 pages despite the insanely busy month April became. I started off the month with a 2 week trip to Europe. I was a bit behind from that, and when I came back my departure to college was changed from 4ish months away to just a few weeks. I have been learning how to drive, picking out an apartment, meeting with college counselors, bustling about getting everything I need to go off and live on my own. And writing!

Calling all failures!
Well, I blew it. I started strong, wasted half the month, then started writing like a madman on the 30th.
I wrote 61 pages today! 61 pages!
I actually got up to 76 pages, but I didn't check in in the last hour, so my count only stands at 64 pages. If I could only have done one last check in, it would be 76. I didn't notice that the clock had struck the hour.
I had 15 pages this morning, with the next 12 planned and a very rough outline in hand. I feel incredible.

Not gonna make it...
Although I tried my best to complete my script, life was too hectic. Everything was chugging along fine when one of the feral cats my husband and I care for went into labor. We now have three brand new kittens to look after. I'm not disappointed that I only wrote 64 pages (which were mostly notes) because that's more than I had on April first. I may not be able to finish the challenge, but I have an interesting beginning. I have no regrets and look forward to next year.

__________________________Foiled Again
This is my 3rd year of Screnzy, and I swore this year I would win. I did tons of prep and I know how I want to end my story, problem is I can't physically write.
Like usual, and expected, school work got me behind, but now, 22 pages away with an ending I know, I am and have been the last two days, simply decimated by a terrible cold. I can't form pages of script into coherrent words...if all this makes sense I'll be shocked.
Sorry, just needed to talk about how frustrating this is, to know what you want to say but not being able to finish in time.
__________________________I JUST WON!...And I feel like a cheater...
Okay, so I had about four or five pages to go when I plugged my thumb drive into this computer (which is not the one I usually use). I was going to finish up and validate, when I realized that the computer had automatically put my script in a different format, which put my page count much higher than it had been in the old format. I thought "Oh, how nice!" and validated it.
But now that I'm thinking about it, I could have reformatted it and typed up those last five pages before validating.
"Of course it is all happening inside your head! But why on earth should that mean that it is not real?"
Frenzy 2011: WON! But not finished!
Anyone else ended it on a cliffhanger?
My script is the first part of a trilogy and it ended on a pretty big cliffhanger... but now whenever I see that file on my desktop I feel a very strong urge to go ahead and write the sequel now (rather than wait for another Frenzy-type event). I just can't stand the thought of my characters being stranded in the middle of cliffhanger-land! Anyone else in this situation?
__________________________PSD: Post Story Depression
The worst part of writing. Whenever I'm into it, ideas are coming faster than I can keep up, I can spend all day either writing or planning out the story and things are great!
Once I get through a major part of it, I crash. The nagging voices asking "Who's gonna read it?" and other stuff come out, and I just slow down so much. Dang.
