INT. DR. EVANS OFFICE - DAY

Evans sits behind his desk exuding patience.

Mr. Buonafortuna sits in a visitor chair. Mrs. B fusses over Joey on the couch. He's conscious but sluggish and newly bandaged.

MR. B
Ninjas?

DR. EVANS
Yes.

MR. B
That's your diagnosis?

DR. EVANS
Yes.

MR. B
My son- You're saying, my son ...

DR. EVANS
Ninjas. Yes. I know it's difficult to accept-

MR. B
Difficult?

MRS. B
Jerry ...

MR. B
Helen, please. If ever there was a time to "take a tone" it's now.

MRS. B
It's true.

Mr. B shifts in his chair so he can see his wife behind him.

MR. B
Say what now?

MRS. B
My grandfather ... I'm sorry I didn't tell you before, Jerry, I just- My grandfather had ninjas.
