An Excerpt from Out of the Blue
INT. /EXT. ESPERANZA’S VILLAGE HOUSE. MOUNTAIN VILLAGE. EXTREMADURA, SPAIN. LATE AFTERNOON. MAY 2005
ESPERANZA stomps through thick walled, dark interior of tiny village house from front to back. Spartan but immaculate, with occasional finely-worked lace curtain and religious artefact. She reaches out to open darkened shutter, with arthritic fingers. It opens wide on a dazzling, dizzying view from the top of the Gredos to the valley floor.
Our View shifts slightly. A mobile phone mast is being erected not ten yards from ESPERANZA’S window.
She leans out, shakes her fist at it.
ESPERANZA
God will strike you down!
Slams the shutters shut.
