What adventures await your characters? Mine will be traveling through the playa and dodging nomadic people hell bent on finding water.

As I just posted over on the Fantasy forum, I'm doing a modern action/adventure with a slight hint of fantasy, so my characters will probably be in the big city and the suburbs more than anywhere. Haven't figured out anything more about the setting yet. Maybe I'll base it on the local area that I'm familiar with - Hamilton, Burlington, Stoney Creek, Ancaster/Dunda, and up the lakeshore into Toronto.

I've got a lot of places I'm slogging my poor characters through: British-held Egypt, war-torn France circa WWI, as well as good old London. I've got an AU Steampunk WWI idea buzzing around in my head, which means I'm seeing dirigibles in their future...

Mine are going to be sent through the hell of a Third World War. There are characters in Morocco, the Middle East, and America, as well as Europe (specifically, France and Germany). Lots of battles, but lots of quieter character moments, as well. Or at least, that's the plan, anyway.

They're going, for the first time ever, to the land.

My characters will be traveling around to different parts of the world, in about a year. In a hot air balloon. I still need to decide where.

They'll certainly be going somewhere. The question is, where? And under what circumstances?

All I know is that it will be epic. And dramatic. And there may be a scene where they are doomed, until they're saved by aliens, from which they then have to escape, and decide to go home until they run into a man who offers to walk with them but then turns out to be a werewolf and they get hopelessly lost and end up on another adventure.

Of course, I made all that up on the spot, so it's certainly subject to change.

I think the only way to get through a month of writing like Screnzy or NaNo is to have the story really crazy--something where you can make a lot of things up and have really radical situations to throw your characters into. The worst thing is for the story to get boring.

I don't know who my characters are yet, but they'll definitely be thrown into a lot of strange situations.

Mine will be a civil war in the United States... though I don't yet have a plausible catalyst for the war, nor do I know where the battle lines will be drawn. I don't even know yet if my characters are going to be the leaders of the war or your average Americans who are forced to choose a side. (Naturally, ideas welcome.)
