RE: Adopt-a-subplot

- One (or more) of your characters is/are on the run from crazed, sugar-high ninja assassins.

- One (or more) of your characters is a/are crazed, sugar-high ninja assassin(s) and needs to kill some other character (not necessarily a major one).

- Cats are invading the country and must be stopped (perhaps with bribes of milk and fish).

- There is an international "plague" of frogs, threatening to deafen everyone with croaks, and cause disastrous earthquakes (not to mention migraines) with their incessant hopping. Needless to say, something should probably be done about the little menaces.

- At any one point several characters are suffering from horrible colds

- A character is trying to watch a movie throughout the entire script but keeps getting interrupted (BP if it's a Disney classic)

Ali, I see your dare and snatch it. I get to be in my own script!

!! Takes !!
Your main character constantly redrafts their suicide note.

Leaves --
A male character has bad luck with the ladies largely due to his obsessive-compulsive nature. His list of compulsions include, but are not limited to, opening and closing the freezer door twelve times each time he grabs ice cream, touching the trunk of every tree he passes, and always shuffling a deck of cards between seven and nine times just to make sure the cards are as unbent as possible.

Takes the sugar-high ninja assasins and cats

If your character is still in school, they are constantly having to dodge an obsessive previous/current teacher to whom they have failed to hand in a minor piece of work, if they have left school, being stalked by and having to constantly dodge an obsessive ex-teacher for the same offence.

This gave me an absolutely BRILLIANT idea, thank you!

I don`t have anything to leave just yet, but don`t worry, it`ll come to me xD

And lo, though I travel through the valley of the archetypes, I shall fear no evil, for I know that the author can't kill me off for at least another 150 pages, no matter how stupid or trite I become, or he ruins the book.

I WANT THE FROGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I totally love the suicide note idea, too - wish I'd gotten there first!!!

Here's a few in return:
A bandit/highwayman with leprosy; threatens to hug people if they won't leave him/her their gold.

A character's TV becomes stuck on the soap opera channel, and he/she becomes increasingly depressed about how much the soaps apply to his/her life.

A character enrolls in a cooking class (this one's good for verbiage - lots of recipes to discuss!)

I dibs this one.

A character, upon watching Shakespeare in Love, becomes completely obsessed with Shakespeare and decides to read every work ever written.

"You are an illuminating anchor
Of leagues to infinite number
Of crashing waves and breaking thunder
Tiding the ebb and flows of hunger."
