I'm still a 160 mile round trip, but at least I have a laptop this year, so it is not totally out of the question. I'm still teaching, so April sucks big time for me. A month from the end, the natives are all restless. On a weekend?

I live in Des Moines...
So, yes, I have interest in a Des Moines, umm, thing.

I'm game. As long as someone pushes me out the door at a sensible hour -- it's a two hour trek home. Oh, and I don't know where ANYTHING is past Southridge mall, the cross town chunk of interstate, and Merle Hay Mall. The last trip in, I got lost trying to find The Olive Garden from I 35 with the secretary's vague directions "Turn east on one of those big exchanges and go right past Valley West Mall. Since I don't shop till I drop, I found TOWN HALL and a ball field, but no mall, Ye Ho Gardens closed, and nothing else nearby that interested me enough to get out of the line of traffic, so I ended up eating a Big Mac.

Well, I guess I shouldn't gripe. It was a heck of a lot cheaper (unless I wasted the difference in gas trying to find it.) And, yes, I have been there before. I just wasn't DRIVING.
