New to ScriptFrenzy - Anyone near Cheshire (Nantwich)?

I'm new to this Script Frenzy thingy... I've just done my own NaNoWriMo, in February, and am in the middle of NaNoEdMo this month (March, 2008)... So Script Frenzy seems like a natural progression... no point hanging around eh?

Anyone nearby? I'm in Nantwich, Cheshire...

Cheers!

RE: New to ScriptFrenzy - Anyone near Cheshire (Nantwich)?

Hi, firemonkey! (love the nick!) I live in Cheshire too, not far from Chester, and I'm new to this scriptwriting thing. I did Nano last year and won, and I loved it! Was it fun doing it on your own as well? I liked the fact that the forums were up and running, but I suppose it's easier not to get distracted if they're not ...

Just decided a few minutes ago to try the ScriptFrenzy as well, excited about the chance to write things the way I see and hear them, not over explaining and struggling to convey feelings and all that - I'm leaving that bit for November and the next Nano!

I have already downloaded Celtx, since I have no idea how to correctly format a script, and I am loving it already. Seems like just what the newbie needed. What genre are you writing? I am on a sort of noiry theme at the moment, but that can change before April.

Hope I'll see you around, and best of luck!

Hello from sunny Liverpool! Not far from you both at all. We should set up a North-West thread, i.e. Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire, G. Manchester, Cumbria?

Here's cheering firemonkey on for NaNoEdMo! I should really have been doing it this month as well but my writing stalled once November was over and I never went back to it. I will, though. I'll have to tie it up before this year's NaNo or it'll bug me all month.

Nice to meet you both :)

Hi, Spy! (oh, dear, feel a children's rhyme coming on ;)
I hope you don't mind I have added you both as my writing buddies, easier to keep up with how you're doing and cheering you on that way!
I assume there will be more from this area once April comes around, maybe we could have a write-in somewhere?

All the best,

Hi fellow Northerners!

Well, I'm based in Wigan, Lancashire.

I noticed with NaNo there were local groups galore but Screnzy doesn't seem to have anywhere near as many (or at least didn't when I last looked). I actually didn't get around to attending any of the NaNo meetings, but that doesn't mean to say I wouldn't attend any such meeting in the future.

I'll add you all to my buddies too, if you don't mind.

Chris

P.S. I'm using CELTX too

Hi all

I'm from Worcester in the midlands and I followed type247 over from Talkback - hi notvelist!!! No doubt, come mid April, I will be cursing you.

Never written a play before so it's all new and exciting. Probably writing a musical. Never done this before, nor Nanowrimo, which I will be sure to attepmt later this year.

Good luck all.

RE: New to ScriptFrenzy - Anyone near Cheshire (Nantwich)?

Hi Lisa, and welcome! I realise you probably will be cursing me at some point, but I sincerely hope you'll be wanting to buy me a pint when it's over, though! If this is going to be anything like Nanowrimo - which I can also recommend - we will all be questioning our sanity along the way, but if you just keep going, you'll get a fabulous feeling of achievement at the end. And you'll learn a lot about your own writing and how truly awarding (though sometimes truly awful) it can be. Anyway, if it doesn't work out, you can always blame me!

All the best,
LM

RE: New to ScriptFrenzy - Anyone near Cheshire (Nantwich)?

Hi all,

I'm from Wigan and my name's Matt (although you probably guessed that thanks to my unimaginative username). I split my time between Wigan and the Midlands where I work. I don't know what I'm writing this April although I'm still trying to finish last years Nano novel too, but that will probably go on hold until after April.

Wish everyone the best of luck, and if you want to add me as a buddy go ahead and I'll add you in return.

Well, back to the plot generator on the main page for me in the hopes of finding one that peaks my interest.

See ya.

Hello to you all, especially Anna...I'm in Liverpool too. This will be my first Scriptfrenzy but I am a Nanowrimo winner from 2006...too busy to do it last year.

I've only just signed up here but I'm totally overexcited already.

Hope everyone has had a great Easter.
