Celtx Users

In light of the myriad tools available for helping you write faster, Zanni made some awesome postage in the Hello thread with some software suggestions, one of which was Celtx. Since I've decided to use Celtx for my Script Frenzy this year, I thought it'd be awesome to have some sort of feedback/help/questions/comments thread for other users of Celtx, or people interested in using it. Well, I haven't started using it much yet, but I shall tonight at the write in! Word!

RE: Celtx Users

One of my initial big complaints about CeltX was that your script is trapped in a proprietary format. Turns out you can export to .TXT and .PDF pretty easily, they just decided to hide those options for some reason. Under Microsoft Word, you'd just Save As... and choose a different file type. In CeltX to create a a .TXT file you have to choose Script->Export. Fine. What if you want a .PDF (whihc you need to validate your script)? There's no Save As or Export. You have to click on the tab at the bottom that says Typeset then save as a .PDF. Bonus: at about 50 pages, the PDF is one page longer than the inline pagination says. Free page! I imagine a full-length script will add two pages to the count. Also, it adds a title page. Sweet! You only have to write 97 pages of script!
