So I actually received some communication about the H.A.C.K. Club from last year - so here it is again! Anyone who wants to join is welcome!

The Story Behind H.A.C.K.:

A screenwriter came to talk to our screenwriting program and we read part of a script we sold. A student called him on a bad bit of science, and he asked him why he wrote it the way he did. The writer responded: "One word. H-A-C-K."

Thus the H.A.C.K. Club was born. =)

And feel free to link the club in your signature so others can recognize you as a proud H.A.C.K.

I'm in.

Just don't hold me to those prolific quotas other hacks bang out.

As I understand it, it was a motivator to get us to write as much as possible without the usual writer worries, you know, wondering if it was actually good, deep, profound, etc. Basically, plugging away until you're done and not picking at it until you've actually finished.

Oh yes. I'm definitely in the right club. I completely understand and embrace this aspect of Script Frenzy (and NaNoWriMo).

So how do you hack?
I'm creating characters with a machete.
Blazing a plot trail without a compass.
And closing my eyes as I aim and shoot words all over the place.
