ARNIE walks into the general office. The secretary sees him, sees the wrench, and frowns.
SECRETARY
Can I help you?
ARNIE
Yes, my name is Arnie Cartwell, and I’d like to see the principal.
SECRETARY
Are you some kind of repairman? Because we didn’t call any repairmen.
ARNIE
Just a concerned parent.
SECRETARY
Well, I don’t know what you’re planning to do with that wrench,
but you can leave it here.
ARNIE
It’s funny you should say that because a couple of boys decided to
re-arrange my son’s face with a wrench like this one.
SECRETARY
You planning on threatening me with that wrench, sir?
Because I could just call security to take you away.
ARNIE
You know for a secretary you’re actually really quick and bright.
SECRETARY
That’s why they pay me the big bucks.
ARNIE
{smirks} Just buzz the principal or whatever it is you do.
SECRETARY
Just leave the wrench here.
ARNIE
I think I’ll take it with me. You never know what I may need to repair.
The SECRETARY buzzes the principal.
PRINCIPAL
Yes?
SECRETARY
Sir, there’s a Mr. Cartwell to see you. He’s brought a wrench with him.
PRINCIPAL
A wrench?
ARNIE throws the wrench onto the SECRETARY’s desk, knocking her cup of coffee over, and approaches the principal’s door.
SECRETARY
Hey you can’t go in there!
