What are you doing to reach 100 pages?

Hmmm... I have my script double spaced and I hit enter once or twice after every character speaks.

It's not the winning, it's the formatting that counts! ;-)

RE: What are you doing to reach 100 pages?

writing short dialog seems to help.

for example:

MC1
you stink!

MC2
Do not

MC1
do so!

MC2
do not!

etc.

i have not actually used that particular example or anything quite that blatantly page-padding but i did put in some unnecessary 'oh' 'um' and 'well' when the characters could just have easily not said anything.
(i'm going to be missing a few days toward the end of the month so i need to stay ahead of the game.)

RE: What are you doing to reach 100 pages?

Ooh, cheap tricks. I like!

I'm writing a stage play.

I've got narrators who comment on the action after nearly every scene!

And if that weren't bad enough, I use stage directions at the beginning and end of every scene-something like "lights out on stage" at end of stage scene and "lights up on narrators" at start of next narrator scene. Two extra lines, with all that formatting space, added! Very unnecessary. Very line-enhancing. Very cheap trick!

Revamping the story.
Ploughing through it.

And my characters argue. A LOT.

RE: What are you doing to reach 100 pages?

As someone else said: I'm writing 100 pages. In fact I wrote 100 pages but the PDF says it's 99 so I just need to expand it slightly.

No tricks, two weeks ago I was on 30 pages, so I just looked at the deadline and said: I'm going to do it. With my outline clearly in my head I just wrote, getting 6 pages per hour down and doing 1.5-2 hours per evening.

Then on Friday I was on a train for 3 hours and wrote the final 20 pages.

My god, it felt great.

RE: What are you doing to reach 100 pages?

What's my secret? I outline first, which allows me to get some of my thinking done beforehand. Outlining is especially important for a screenplay and similar forms, but I find it works just as well for comics. But mostly, I type as fast as I can (and I can type very very fast indeed) and force my brain to catch up. Also, I have an advantage in that some of my scenes are already fully composed in my mind even before I write them down, and some of those I wrote down years ago and simply remembered.

RE: What are you doing to reach 100 pages?

I force myself to write four pages a day, no matter what. No sleep until 4 pages have been written. Usually, this means I'm at the 24-hour doughnut place near my house at 2:00 am with a coffee and a pile of Boston creams, trying to write as much as I can before my laptop battery runs out.

Incidentally, Script Frenzy is going straight to my waistline.
