FLASHBACKS... maybe??

I have a character at her birthday party that as he says hello to someone who has done her wrong... she has a "flashback" of the incident and then she goes into a "selective" consequence that she wished she had given them at the time of the incident how would I break that into a "scene heading" and then an action description.

Again... very new at this so any suggestions are so very appreciated....

thanks

RE: FLASHBACKS... maybe??

The flashback part is easy. You just write it within the scene. How to make it clear that she's having an I-wish-I-thought-of-that-at-the-time moment is up to you. Here's one way.

If your flashback finishes the scene, you don't need END FLASHBACK, just start the next scene as normal

INT. HOUSE - DAY
Blah blah birthday party blah blah.

A sees B walking towards her.

A
Hello, B

FLASHBACK

Location if you need it - X weeks/months/years ago

B
Nasty put-down line

A
Even nastier and far wittier comeback

END FLASHBACK

A (V.O.)
I wish.

B
Are you OK, A?
