I know most of us are still reeling from the climax of Script Frenzy... but I want to put a call out for someone to offer mutual support to help with the rewrite!

My script is the story of a woman who has a (possibly magical) talent for healing in a cynical modern world. It's about her reluctance to accept her gift and how she deals with the unwanted 'celebrity' attention. I'm not sure what genre is it but it's quite lighthearted with some sinister and some romantic bits.

Anyone interested? I propose we would swap scripts, read them, offer feedback and support along the road to the next draft. Oh, and I'm not talking about immediately! Maybe start in a week or so...

What is everyone writing then? I'm torn between the airplane disaster movie, dystopian sci-future flick, and a rom com. Oh and I got an idea for a time traveling historical flick this afternoon.

Anyone got any idea of what they are going to write? Is someone that is really organised and already has everything planned out? If so do you want to share with the rest of us? I really need help, I failed to reach the 20K required last year.

Hi folks.
Just wondering if there's anybody in or around Lancaster. I found that being able to meet up and see how other people are getting on was a great motivating factor in NaNo last year, but I don't know anyone round here who's doing the script frenzy.

Dialogue was always my weakpoint, so if anything the extra push would be even more welcome this month. I've sat in the JuiCafe for 2 days now, and produced slightly less than one page of script.

Thought I'd start the thread off so we can get a big, collective "huzzah!" to welcome in the second annual Script Frenzy takeover of our lives.

Less than forty minutes to go here in the Isles. Who's excited? Who's terrified? Who's caffeinated? Who's even awake?!

We have an AIM chat room going - though currently I seem to be the only BST-bound chatter. (Invite yourself to 'scriptfrenzy'.) I also set up n IRC channel on the Good Chatting server (irc.goodchatting.com) but it's kind of empty!

But I will not be deterred! I'm determined to celebrate Fade-In for the UK! Join me!

I've been doing Nanowrimo for the last five years, but this year I want to work on my romantic comedy. At the moment I'm reading Syd Field's "Screenplay" and worrying about how to write a comedy when I haven't got anything funny to say.

VENUE: The Mad Hatter Hotel, Stamford Street, Southwark. (SE1 9NY)

HOW TO GET THERE:

From Southwark: turn left out of the tube and head up Blackfriars road, When you get the junction with Stamford Street and Southwark Street, you'll spot the pub on your left. Blackfriars: leave the station and head over Blackfriars Bridge. When you get to the traffic lights you'll see the pub across the road on your right.

HOW TO FIND US: Can we be missed? Look out for mad writers. I will endevour to get together a sign and I shall have a large black notebook (low tech, I know), possibly a haggis, too.

I'm tempted, given the venue, to wear a silly hat. You are more than welcome to join me in this. (Would also be a thing to spot by) Hope that some of you will be coming along. =) Please do drop a coment here, just so I know if I'm to be a loner.

I've had a few emails from people wanting to know what does and doesn't count. SO for those of you who don't already know...

FONT, MARGINS, AND SPACING

Screenplays live on letter-sized paper (8.5 x 11 inches). They're always written in Courier font, 12 point, 10 pitch. No bold, no italics.

Page Margins:
Left: 1.5 inches
Right: 1 inch
Top: 1 inch
Bottom: 1 inch

Screenplay Element Margins

Slugline: left margin 1.5 inches

Action: left margin 1.5 inches
Character name: left margin 3.7 inches
Dialog: left margin 2.5 inches, right margin 2.5 inches (or 6 inches from left edge of page)
Parentheticals: left margin 3.1 inches, right margin 2.9 inches
Spacing Between Elements:

Between Slugline and Action: double space

Between Action and more Action: double space
Between Action and Character Name: double space
Between Character Name and Dialogue: single space
Between Dialogue and the next Character Name: double space
Between Dialogue and Action: double space
Between Character Name and Parentheticals: single space
Between Parentheticals and Dialogue: single space
Between Action and Slugline: double space
Between Dialogue and Slugline: double space
You know, it's probably a lot easier to remember that in a single character's speech, made up of Character Name, Dialogue, and possibly a Parenthetical, there are single spaces between the elements. Between everything else, double space.
