So, what's everyone writing about?

Wow, our regional board is so quiet! Not like NaNo was!!

So, since I'm procrastinating and running out of Facebook and Livejournal stuffs to procrastinate with :) I thought I'd throw this out -- what's everyone's script about?

I'll start!

My screenplay begins at Anime Central (a big anime convention in Rosemont in May) with a bunch of cosplayers packed into an elevator, which malfunctions. They manage to get the doors open and discover...they're not at the Hyatt anymore! And, more so, they're learning that they seem to have gained the powers of the character they're cosplaying. My two blabbermouths, Knitchick and Pockychopstix, are cosplaying Captain Jack Harkness and the Tenth Doctor from Doctor Who (heehee), I've got Jason David Frank in there (he's gonna be a guest at Acen this year, I just had to trap him with us!!), Perona from One Piece, a Highlander immortal, and more. I'm still trying to figure out the details of where they are and how they got there (I'm the writer and I'm discovering this as the characters do! That really shouldn't be....), but I've decided to toss some other dimensional portals in there and I'm having way too much fun with that. It's fun having two characters who can't die! *evil grin*

So that's my crazy insane screenplay. What's everyone else writing about?? :)

Hi, my name is Margie Mack and I live in Hanover Park, Illinois. This is blast! I am excited because this is my second screenplay and I love experiencing the lives of my characters taking place!

I have been married 38 years; have four grown sons with three beautiful daughter-in-laws and three grandbabies with another sneaking around the corner at the end of April!

My family and friends are my inspiration for my writing and I want to finish this thing! Peace, Margie

Please reply to this thread with a brief paragraph about yourself, your S/F project, and what you hope to achieve this month. Also, if you know what genre & form you'll be writing in, mention it as well.

As for me:

This is my first year doing S/F and will be my third full NaNoWriMo later this year in November. Fot S/F I'll be writing a screenplay in the Sci Fi genre focusing on a story I've had in my head for quite some time.

When not writing, I try to find new places in the city to host write-ins, find new restaurants to take my friends out to, and generally spend time with my cat Suki (since she gives me meow-lectures when I spend too much time away from home).

I look forward to hearing from everyone else!

Script Frenzy Primer

Have no clue what you're going to do come April 1st? Never written anything remotely script-related? Don't fret! Attend the ScriptFrenzy Primer at the regular ChiWriMo monthly meeting on Saturday, March 29th. The meeting will commence at 1pm.

At the primer, you'll meet other ScriptFrenzy writers, local NaNoWriMo writers, and a host of other people you'll need as a support net to propel you through 30 days of script writing.

In addition to the socializing, we'll have handouts and explanations on how & where to start come April 1st as well as an open atmosphere for those with questions. And don't forget the food and beverages - those are always key to a good ChiWriMo meeting!

If you have any questions, please send me a FrenzyMail and I'll get back to you within 24 hours barring national disaster; otherwise, check out the ChiWriMo webpage for upcoming events, information, locations, and times. And good luck in the coming weeks!

Welcome to Script Frenzy 08!

Hey everyone!

Welcome to Script Frenzy 2008! I'll be your point of contact through out the month for everything Chicago-related (including organizing write-ins, moderating our local forums, and answering your questions), and hope that everybody enjoys what I hope will be a wonderful month. Read on for some important information about Script Frenzy in the Chicago region.

Write-ins are scheduled for Tuesday evenings in April, locations to be determined. A new post and calendar entries on the ChiWriMo calendar will detail where and when write-ins will be held, and will be kept up-to-date as new events are scheduled. Write-ins are the events where we get together and work on our projects. A lot of people find them to be wonderful productive times, and it's nice to hang out with a few other people who understand the depth of madness to which you've succumbed.

To kick things off, we'll be having a special kick off party and write in session on April 1st. Details on that are to be determined as well pending space acquisition.
