Where and what is your comic relief in your Drama. Every good drama has a little bit.

Mine falls in the beginning and goes something like this

ext. sherman farm - DAy

One day prior. It's about sunset on the farm, VIRGIL and ABNER sit out on the porch steps, each with a bottle of beer at his side. ABNER smokes a cigar. Both men are holding cards and are facing slightly in towards each other.

VIRGIL
Any threes?

ABNER
Go fish.

VIRGIL
For Christ's sake Abner, do ya got any cards?

ABNER
Ya can see I got cards!

VIRGIL

Does a character smoking marijuana make your pic into a Stoner Movie?

I don't really want to make a stoner movie, but the character seems to want to get high. Now, what if his roommate is getting high and he isn't? Its not like they are on a quest to score more weed.

Has anyone ever heard of or seen an animated drama? And I mean other than various animes; I know there's a few. What about more well known stuff?

The First Five Minutes --- Best/Favorite Opening Scenes?

I was debating favorite opening movie scenes with a colleague today. Her favorite is "The Social Network" and mine is "Amelie."
With SF starting soon, I've been thinking a lot on this topic.
I'm curious...what's your favorite? And why?
