What do you want?

Silas
You have a crystalline foxtail somewhere in this mess?

Tobias glares at Silas and then looks thoughtful. After a moment, he nods.

Tobias
I think it’s in the bedroom. I was using it as a prism. What do you want with it?

Corbin
Someone cast a spell on our mother. We’re hoping to construct the fox, so that we can wish it away.

Tobias nods. He looks at Silas and smiles.

Tobias
You can have it, but I need a favor in return.

Silas
Of course. Nothing comes for free, especially not from you.

Silas folds his hands and leans forward. While the magicians discuss the matter, Kenton meanders over to the chemistry equipment and starts looking at it. Emily leans on a bare patch of wall, looking bored. Corbin begins straightening books.

Silas (cont.)
What’s your price?

Tobias
The Flute of Changing. I found out where it is, but… I can’t get it for myself.

Emily
You want us to get it for you?

Tobias
(nods)
I also want to borrow that one.

Tobias points at Corbin. Emily makes a noise of protest. Corbin looks up from his cleaning and blinks.

Silas
(surprised)
Why? What do you want with Corey?

Tobias
It’s been a while since this place saw a woman’s touch. The clutter’s gotten a bit out of hand.

Corbin
(shocked)
A bit?

Corbin realizes the implications of Tobias’s words and gasps.

Corbin (cont.)
(angry)
I am not a woman!

Tobias
(amused)
Feminine enough to be one.

From Simple Gifts:

KENTON and EMILY have made their way to Joyce's side. EMILY snatches Donner out of Kenton's hands. They run in circles around JOYCE and CORBIN.

KENTON

(chasing EMILY, trying to grab him back)

Give him back! Give him back!

EMILY

(mocking)

Give him back!

CORBIN

(annoyed, but amused)

Honestly.

JOYCE

(calmly takes Donner out of Emily's hand and give it back to KENTON)

Please, don't tease your brother, Emily.

KENTON sticks his tongue out at EMILY. EMILY growls and takes a step towards him. KENTON hides behind CORBIN.

JOYCE

(continuing on her way)

Don't antagonize your sister, please, Kenny.

KENTON

Yes, Mama.

CORBIN

(singsong)

Birds in their nests agree.

KENTON

(teasing)

Agree on what?

EMILY

(grumbling to CORBIN)

You are such a kiss-up!

CORBIN

(quite amused)

Why, yes! I do believe I am.
