An Excerpt from Welcoming Starlet

Sara walks towards the RECORDING BOOTH, STARES at the MIXING BOARD before LOOKING UP and NOTICING the BAND. Sara LOOKS at each of them before turning BACK to Hannah.

SARA
Wow-hot band guys.

Hannah RUNS up to Sara and PULLS on her arm, trying to lead her away form the band. Hannah looks startled and scared at the same time.

HANNAH
No-no. These are not hot band guys,

Hannah LEADS Sara away and TOWARDS the door and PLANTS her HANDS on Sara’s SHOULDERS.

HANNAH (CONT’D)

these are my career, my life. They are my first band that I signed and I am proving myself in the music world with them

Sara GLANCES back at the band, TURNS back towards Hannah and SHRUGS her shoulders, looking innocent and clueless.

SARA
No, I think they might just be really hot band guys.

Hannah gets ANNOYED and LEADS Sara towards the door.

HANNAH
Look Sara, I am busy right now. I will call you later, after we are done recording. We’ll get together for lunch and you can tell me
(BEAT)
Whatever. Okay?

Sara looks FRUSTRATED, but NODS her head anyways.

SARA
Fine, do you need my number?

HANNAH
No, I have it.

Sara shakes her head as she WALKS out of the studio.

SARA
Okay, you have it
(BEAT)
You just haven’t used it for 3 years…
HANNAH
Bye Sara. I’ll call when we are done.

SARA (O.C.)
Sure…

Hannah turns back TOWARDS Ashley and the band.

Cut to:

Ashley’s startled expression and the band’s dazed expressions.

ASHLEY
So that is the sister you never talk about.

HANNAH
And now you see why..

Hannah WALKS back to the mixing board and SIGNALS at the band to get into position to record.

HANNAH (CONT’D)
Back to work.

FADE OUT.
