FADE IN:
EXT. STREET - NIGHT
FADE IN on a desperate man (JUAN) hitting the ground. He scrambles to his feet and keeps on running. He checks doors before shouldering one in. He shuts it behind him.
Juan runs up the stairs and picks a room. He barricades it and breaks off a bed post for a weapon. And waits.
And waits.
And waits.
...And waits.
Eventually, he listens against the door. Nothing. He sighs and leans against it. To is right is BRETT, who is waiting to be noticed. Juan does, and Brett shrugs. Before Juan can raise his club, Brett shoots him. Juan collapses to the ground and Brett shakes off the recoil.
He opens the door and it stops as it hits him. He keeps pulling until it opens and walks out. MUSIC starts as he leaves the room.
FADE OUT.

MUSIC STILL PLAYING on Brett’s ipod as he passes through the bustle and enters a diner.
Brett sits next to a serious man in formal attire. SUIT taps his watch and says something (attached), but is drowned out by the music. Brett looks around and is brought back by a THUD on the table. EMILY the waitress is here to take his order. Brett looks at the menu, perplexed, and Suit charms the waitress away. She slaps his shoulder playfully before walking off.
Suit is suddenly business again, placing a diary on the table. Brett opens it to the last entry: 186 MADDISON, 2A, complete with a picture (JOHN). Suit starts tapping the page and Brett looks up. Suit points to the bottom where NO GUNS is written.
Suit is suddenly all smiles again as Emily returns with their meal. Suit takes the book back and is making small talk as they eat. Brett turns the music down as Emily approaches, but she passes by and he returns to his meal, MUSIC UP.
Brett approaches 2A (NO MUSIC). He pulls a portable audio surveillance gadget out of his bag and plugs his headphones in. It SQUEALS, and as he adjusts it, he hears the TELEVISION, and SOMEONE IN THE BATHROOM. They're finishing, and he waits until they WALK to the television and stop.
Brett picks the lock and lets himself in.
Television is in the bedroom, and Brett stays out of the doorway as he takes in the stylish abode. He spots a samurai sword on the shelf and unsheathes it. He starts to swing it around amateurly, knocking over something.
The TV is off, and JOHN is suddenly standing in the doorway. Before he can ask so much as a "What the fuck?", he's impaled by the katana and Brett follows the blade to cover John's mouth. John struggles, and Brett wiggles it, dodging the blood splatter.
John dies and Brett looks around. He selects the "Cleaning" (CLASSICAL) playlist on his mp3 and gets to work tossing furniture and trashing the place. He steals anything of value (including the wallet), and opens the window by the fire escape. He hears a sound and pulls out one earphone. Someone's trying to get in.
Not knowing it was already unlocked, they end up locking it and, exasperated, try again. Brett pulls the sword out and stands by the door.
ANNA finally enters, and stops at the sight of John. She drops her bag and GASPS. The door SHUTS behind her, and as she turns she is decapitated.
Brett frowns, and goes to find her head. When he does he is shocked. He knows her. He loves her. The piece he's listening to ends at a crescendo just as we-
BLACK OUT.
The next song on the playlist starts as we see:
