EXT. MAIN ROAD - NIGHT
Colin and Kyle are walking hand in hand. Colin is still wearing the blue flower in his hair. The road is dimly lit by the street lights.

KYLE
Have you ever been with another guy
before?
COLIN
Umm... I have actually.
KYLE
Really?
COLIN
Yeah. I was in sixth grade.
KYLE
Sixth grade?
COLIN
Yeah.
KYLE
How old was he?
COLIN
Same age.
KYLE
Wow.
COLIN
What?
KYLE
Was that your first time with
anyone?
COLIN
Yeah, it was.
KYLE
Why didn’t you come out then?
COLIN
At the time, I didn’t fully grasp
the concept of what we were doing.
It was fun. I had a vague idea of
what gay and straight was, but I
didn’t fully understand until much
later.
KYLE
Did you like him, or was just sex?
COLIN
We were good friends, but I never
had any of ‘those’ feelings towards
him.
KYLE
Have you ever fallen in love with
another guy before?
COLIN
Once. Again, I didn’t fully
understand until later.
KYLE
Any other guys you might be falling
for?

Colin looks at Kyle, knowingly.

COLIN
(smiling)
Maybe.
-
Kyle smiles back, blushing. A car can be seen in the distance, it’s approaching fast. Colin freezes up, stopping dead in his tracks. He unlocks his hand from Kyle’s. A black sports car passes them. Colin exhales a sigh of relief.

KYLE
You okay?
COLIN
Yeah, I’m fine.

The two join hands, once again.

KYLE
Who’d you think it was?
COLIN
My father.
KYLE
Good thing that wasn’t him.
COLIN
Seriously.
KYLE
What do you think he would do if he
caught you with me?
COLIN
Kill us both. Well, actually, he’d
probably kill you, then send me to
some f**ked-out ‘straight’ camp.
KYLE
I already told you what my dad
would do.
COLIN
Yeah, the gallows.
KYLE
Ya bet your a**. Do you really
think he’d react that badly? Maybe
he’d surprise you.
COLIN
Oh, no. My father can’t even stand
‘Will & Grace’. He once said that
that show is abomination to
television.
KYLE
Oh, please. Television is an
abomination to itself.
COLIN
I bet your father says the same
thing, about ‘Will & Grace’ I mean.
KYLE
Yeah, he does.

They chuckle, and then share a comfortable silence as they continue to walk. The boys spot another car approaching. They don’t take quite as much precaution this time. They continue to walk holding hands. Before they know it the car is upon them. It’s Conner’s SUV! The headlights shine directly on them!

COLIN
S**t! It’s my dad!

The SUV comes to a screeching halt! Colin jerks his hand away from Kyle’s just as the driver’s side door flies opens. Emerging is a very p**sed off Conner!
