Swagger

INT. APARTMENT - NIGHT

TITLE CARD: AUGUST 13, 2007

We're following GANGSTER through the hallway as he carries something. From somewhere nearby, we hear the sounds of moaning and an older man's voice. Finally, GANGSTER emerges in the living room and we see PATRICK FAGAN, 40, lying on the couch, MARSHALL FAGAN, 66, hovering over him, holding a white towel to Patrick's bleeding stomach. GANGSTER sets another stack of towels beside Marshall, but he doesn't pay attention.

MARSHALL
Hold still.

He lifts the towel and we finally see the gunshot wound, visible through a hole in Patrick's shirt. It's fatal.

MARSHALL (CONT'D)
It doesn't look good.

Marshall pulls another towel from the pile, throwing the bloody one to the floor beside him, and presses again to the wound. The pain is intense and it's obvious Patrick is very near to passing out from it. Marshall notices.

MARSHALL (CONT'D)
Stay awake, now, Paddy, stay awake.

It's no use. Patrick's passing out. Marshall slaps his cheek with one bloody hand, but it doesn't do any good.

MARSHALL (CONT'D)
Come on, Patrick -

The scene FADES TO BLACK.

MARSHALL (CONT'D)
- stay awake!
