An Excerpt from Reality
V.O. NARRATOR Reality is a fragile thing. Nearly everyone breaks through it at some point in their life, and they see things that are beyond imagination, beyond comprehension. Most of those people ignore the unreality and lead normal lives. Cut to Lily and Adam as adults in a kitchen, acting out a normal-looking daily routine. V.O. NARRATOR (continuing) Personally, I think they're rather boring, but they have easy lives. Everything makes sense to them. Doubts are minimal and temporary. It is the fabled "simple life." But the people who pay attention to unreality... They're the ones with stories to tell. The artists... Cut to Carl playing guitar. V.O. NARRATOR The scientists... Cut to James in a lab. V.O. NARRATOR And those few who went a step too far down the rabbit hole. Cut to the outside of the Fenwick insane asylum. A screaming, thrashing patient is strapped to a gurney being pushed across the parking lot by two orderlies in scrubs. V.O. NARRATOR Of course, most people don't realize any of this... |
