EXT. PARK - DAY

It is now about 3:00 in the afternoon. Claire and Barbara are taking a stroll through the park.

BARBARA
So you have it all figured out, do you?

CLAIRE
Yes, I do. We'll have it at my place. I'll just say in the ad that people will have to email me if they want details on where and when it will be held.

BARBARA
Great! What if someone doesn't have a computer at home? How will they email you then?

CLAIRE
Well, they have public computer and internet stations at libraries these days. They can go there and things like that.

BARBARA
(after a brief pause)
Well, I guess that's true. I guess if there is a will, there is a way. I mean, if they want to come so bad, they'll find a way.

CLAIRE
Now do you see what I mean?

A few minutes later, Claire and Barbara are sitting on a bench.

CLAIRE
So you still want to move out of town?

BARBARA
Actually, yes, I do.

CLAIRE
Well, to be perfectly honest with you, so do I.

BARBARA
Well, then, why don't you move and just wait until after the move to do this?

CLAIRE
Well, if I did that, then if there are any creatively inclined people living here, then their voices won't be heard.

BARBARA
What do you mean?

CLAIRE
Well, I know from personal experience how it feels to be ignored, overlooked and feel like you're being silenced at every turn.
(brief pause)
I just want such people to feel that they're not alone. That's all.

BARBARA
(after a brief pause)
Well, no one wants to feel that they're alone in their endeavours. I mean, we all feel like that every now and then.

CLAIRE
Well, wouldn't it be nice to have a feeling of community when it comes to these things? I mean, it's only fair.
(brief pause)
I mean, think about it! There's always a sense of support when it comes to everything else. Right?
(Barbara nods in the affirmative)
