An Excerpt from 2015 A.D.

INT. BRIAN’S BEDROOM-DAY

BRIAN is a seventeen-year old boy, well built and very
muscular, if a little heavy. He is a third degree black
belt in Tae Kwon Do, and is presently seen dressed in this
uniform. He puts his shoes on and takes a set of CAR KEYS
from the desk, and exits his room. At the front door of his
house, he calls out.

BRIAN
Mom, I’m leaving!

His MOTHER appears on the stairwell.

BRIAN’S MOTHER
Are you going just to teach, or are
you gambling with your life again?

BRIAN
Mom, who else is going to do
it? Someone has got to protect the
people around here. With no more
police forces, we are the best
trained to do it. Besides I’m
still here, aren’t I?

BRIAN’S MOTHER
Someday your luck might run out.

BRIAN
I don’t rely luck. I rely on skill
and damn good people watching my
back.

With that, he turns and exits the house.

INT. BRIAN’S CAR-DAY

Brian is driving a 2008 model year TOYOTA TUNDRA. His
MOBILE phone goes off, and he takes the call on a bluetooth
headset.

BRIAN
Yes?

VOICE
(O.S.)
We got another call. Are you
close?

CONTINUED: 3.

BRIAN
Five minutes.

VOICE
(O.S.)
We’ll see you then.

The phone call terminates.

EXT. BRIAN’S TAE KWON DO STUDIO-DAY

Brian pulls into the parking lot, exits his car, and enters
the studio.

INT. BRIAN’S TAE KWON DO STUDIO-OFFICE-IMMEDIATELY
FOLLOWING

In the office of the studio, several people are
gathered. TERRY, ANDREW, KEVIN, and MIKE, Brian’s friends,
and also high-ranking black belt teenagers, are among them.

BRIAN
What’s the situation?

TERRY
Not too long ago we received a call
for help. From a child. Listen to
this recording...

Terry hits a button on the RECORDING-BOX, a large
square-shaped box with many knobs and buttons about it. A
voice, barely more than a whisper, is heard.

IAN
(O.S., whisper)
Please...help...bad
guys...have...my parents...I’m
hiding in the closet...up
stairs...they don’t...

The recording terminates.

KEVIN
And that’s all we got.

BRIAN
That was a child’s voice...

MIKE
And that is why we can not afford
to wait.

CONTINUED: 4.

ANDREW
We’re dealing with a possible
hostage situation here.

BRIAN
Just us five, yes?

TERRY
We’re all we’ve got. We have to
move, now. What are your orders?

BRIAN
Two cars. You have the address?

ANDREW
Yes, sir!

BRIAN
You lead. I’ll be right behind
you. Park at a safe distance. We
won’t be able to just go charging
in. Move out!

ALL BUT BRIAN
Yes, sir!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
TERRY
It sounds as though they need to
keep them alive.

ANDREW
Yes. If we approach from the west,
we ought to be able to get to the
front door without being noticed.

BRIAN
Agreed. The front door does not
appear to be dead bolted,
either. Probably thought they had
no need for it...All right, back to
the trucks. Let’s do this!

The Tiger Defense Squad return to their vehicles. They
remove the street clothes that were covering their
uniforms. Brian clips a MULTI-TOOL to his belt, and selects
a bo-staff.

(CONTINUED)

CONTINUED: 7.

MIKE
Sir, if you don’t mind me asking,
how are we going to do this?

BRIAN
Remove the front door hinges, kick
it in, storm in, and take them by
force?

MIKE
But, sir, is that...legal?

BRIAN
No, but seeing as how there is no
law enforcement to do it legally,
we are going to have to make
do. Tiger Defense Squad, move out!

ALL BUT BRIAN
Yes, sir!

The Defense Squad moves from their vehicle, approaching the
colonial from the west, remaining up against the body, so as
that they would not be able to be spotted by the
captors. Terry, Mike, Kevin, and Andrew hug the wall on
either side of the door, so as to not be seen. Terry holds
Brian’s staff as he uses the screwdriver on his MULTI-TOOL
to push the pins on the hinges up. He kicks the door in,
and they charge.
